Gynecomastia (Gyneco – female and Mastia – breasts) i.e. development of female like breasts in men, has been recorded since ancient times, and was first said to have been discussed in the first century A.D. by Galen. The name comes from Greek words 'gynaik' meaning 'female' and 'mastos' meaning 'breasts'.
